In the heart of the mesmerizing rolling hills, dwelt a young shepherd. His existence was essentially pure, simple, and honest. His main role was to tend to his flock of ewes.
Their gentle baas and the murmuring of the wind through the single tree on the peak were his only companions. Day after day, guarding his charges instilled in him a sense of quiet fulfillment.

One morning he ran into the village yelling “Wolf! A wolf is preying on my sheep!” The frightened villagers rushed up the hills to offer assistance but saw no beast.
The boy giggled at the confusion on their faces. This trick laughed for a couple of more days. But, one noon, a real wolf did come to prey the herd. The shepherd boy dashed for aid shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one came.
Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the check here wolf but managed to protect only few of his sheep. Devastated, he returned to the town only to be met with a scolding on honesty and the consequences of crying wolf.
The tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the consequences of lying and the risks of crying wolf. Moreover, it highlights how trust once lost, is hard to reclaim. It's a story as pertinent today as it was in the past.
